Perry area residents are invited to an Aldo Leopold event this weekend at the historic Hotel Pattee.
The two-day program is called “Life in the Raccoon River: The People of the Watershed,” and it begins tomorrow at 7pm. The entire program is free and open to the public.
Acclaimed nature photographer Ty Smedes will begin tomorrow night’s session with a presentation called the “Eagles of Iowa,” and that will be followed by the Raccoon River Watershed Association’s photo competition awards ceremony.
Saturday’s schedule is then packed with different presentations on-going from 9am until 3 o’clock. Most presentations will be about the Raccoon River Watershed in some fashion. The day will be capped off with discussions from organization members Steve Roe and Mike Delaney, one of the founding members of the Association.
Anyone with questions about this weekend’s program can call Ray Harden at 465-5504.
