Adair & Guthrie County’s Emergency Management Agencies are hosting a joint storm spotter class next month at the Menlo Community Center, and agency coordinator Bob Kempf invites all area residents to attend.
The class will take place on March 19th at 7pm. It is free and open to the public.
Then, the following week of March 24 through 28 has been designated as Severe Weather Awareness Week in the state. Subjects such as flash floods, tornadoes and family preparedness will be featured throughout the week.
Kempf says the highlight of Severe Weather Awareness Week is the annual tornado drill scheduled for Wednesday, March 26th at 10am. He encourages all area schools, businesses and individuals to participate in the drill.
