An important program continues to serve those less fortunate in Greene County.

New Opportunities of Greene County Coordinator Teresa Lansman tells Raccoon Valley Radio they recently distributed toys and other items to 286 children with the Toys for Greene County Kids program. She says each child received three toys, along with stocking stuffers, a blanket and some other items. Additionally, Lansman notes every kid ages five and older received a refurbished Google Chromebook from an anonymous donation.  

Lansman appreciates the continued community support, even with an increase of over 30 additional children compared to last year.

“I’m so happy, just overjoyed that we can help so many kids with these. I cannot thank them enough for helping this time of year. We’ve had more families than normal and it made a bright and shiny day for a lot of children.” 

The toys were distributed to the families this past Tuesday.
