The Greene County Compensation Board will meet prior to the next Supervisors meeting on Monday.

The Compensation Board consists of representatives for the county-elected officials to recommend salaries for the coming fiscal year. The Compensation Board includes Mary Jane Fields and Jim Unger representing the Supervisors, Guy Richardson for the auditor, Tom Heater for the county attorney, John McCormick to represent the sheriff, Tim Heisterkamp for the treasurer and Adam Pedersen for the recorder.

Last year, the Compensation Board recommended a five-percent salary increase for Sheriff Jack Williams, and the other county-elected officials, including the attorney, auditor, recorder, treasurer and supervisors to each receive a three-percent salary raise.

Following the recommendation, the Board of Supervisors ultimately approved a 2.5-percent salary increase for all county-elected officials, except Sheriff Williams, who received a 4.16-percent increase. Because the Supervisors approved a 0.5-percent decrease from the Compensation Board’s recommendation, the same percentage had to be applied to the sheriff’s raise.

Monday’s meeting will begin at 7:30am in the boardroom of the Greene County Courthouse.
