The Paton-Churdan girls and boys basketball teams both fell to 0-6 on the season with Rolling Valley Activities Conference losses on Tuesday night in Glidden vs. Glidden-Ralston. The Wildcats were 77-43 winners in the girls’ game and the G-R boys withstood a furious late P-C rally to win 61-55.

Joe Carey made five three-pointers in a row to help the Rockets out of a 24 point third quarter deficit. Carey finished with 27 points. Bradyn Smith added 11 points, six rebounds and three assists. Shaydon Thurman had six points, 11 rebounds, and four steals, and Parker Fitzpatrick scored six points with four rebounds. Justin Stream had three points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.

The girls’ game was all G-R with Paige Klocke scoring 32 points. G-R led 28-9 at the end of the first quarter and 48-25 at halftime. The Rockets had 15 points from Emma Stream, 11 points, seven rebounds, and five steals from Carmyn Paup. Hannah Behrens added 10 points and nine rebounds.
