The Sochi 2014 Winter OIympics came to an end Sunday evening, and the United States finished with the second most medals of any country, collecting 28 total.
House District 20 State Representative Clel Baudler says he is a big fan of the Olympics, and he asks that area residents take the time to thank and appreciate the recent feats of our country’s Olympians.
For Baudler, a man very competitive in nature, watching fellow Americans compete in the Olympics is something that fills him with honor.
“I am so proud… in fact, all of our athletes–I’m so proud of them. Whether they win or lose, as far as I’m concerned, you’re not a loser until you quit and then I might have to look at you a little different. But as long as they’re in the arena going for the best they can do, I sure would never criticize anyone that is over there participating.”
Baudler is particularly fond of women’s figure skating competitors, saying he has “no idea how they do what they do.”
Russia–the Games’ host nation–finished with the highest medal count in this year’s Olympics, corralling 33 total medals.
