At the recent West Central Valley School Board meeting they approved snow removal bids to prepare for winter weather.

Superintendent Rusty Shockley says with four school buildings it’s a lot of maintenance when it snows.

The majority of it is at the high school, but all four attendance centers, you know, they’ve got to get cleaned up and we’re fortunate to have a couple of local people who are willing to bid for their services. And, you know, they try and get everything cleared off before 6 a.m. in case something’s going on.”

The School Board accepted the bid from Schwinger Lawn Services LLC for the amount of $1,045. Shockley also reminds students and parents that when it does snow make sure to check the schools social media and other media outlets if school is canceled, along with Raccoon Valley Radio and 107.9FM KKRF.
