The WCV boys basketball team was in a defensive struggle to start the 2021-22 season.

The Wildcats started the 2021-22 season on the road as the second part of a double header against Southeast Warren. The Warhawks and Wildcats were in a hard fought grind it out battle. Both defensives shined in the game. WCV managed to double up Southeast Warren after the first quarter, giving them a 12-6 lead. The Warhawks would flip the script in the second outscoring WCV, 12-7. This would make it 19-18 at halftime with WCV having the advantage.

The second half of the game was very similar to the first. A neck and neck battle that would have WCV leading 29-23 heading to the 4th. The Wildcats defense was the deciding fact in the end as they add 10 more points in the 4th. Winning this one 39-31.

WCV will be back in action tomorrow. They’ll be on the road to take on Glidden-Ralston with tipoff at 7pm.
