Current Historical Society President David John
As we enter the final month of 2021, the Greene County Historical Society is wrapping up its return of their monthly programs.
This Friday is known as the annual meeting, which includes the election of officers for the new year. Current President David John will be running for his third stint as president, along with Vice President Margaret Hamilton, Secretary Joyce Ausberger and Treasurer Becki Cunningham, who are all seeking re-election and are unopposed.
Following the officer elections will be holiday music by Rick Morain and Peg Raney, along with readings from Jerry Roberts and Johnny Turpin. Historical Society Board Member Chuck Offenburger says they will also distribute their annual newsletter which highlights the programs for 2022. He also encourages anyone to become a historical society member.
“We appreciate new members and we’re looking for them all the time. You can get involved quickly with the leadership. Every program is educational and it’s also fun.”
Friday’s program will take place at 1pm at the Historical Museum in Jefferson and it is free and open to the public. Annual memberships are $15 per person or $20 for families. Click the link below as well as other contact information to become a member.
