The assistant coach for AC/GC football team was selected for an award recently.

Kurt Matthewson the assistant coach and play caller for the chargers football team was named the Class 1A Assistant Coach Of The Year. Matthewson guided the chargers to the best record in school history winning 9 games and taking the team to the quarterfinals of the Iowa High School Football Playoffs.

Kurt Matthewson was recognized for this award between the 1st and 2nd quarter of the Class 1A State Championship Game.
