Dallas Center – Grimes girls basketball will be on the hardwood for the first time this season tonight, when they take on the defending state champions in the Ballard Bombers.

Both of these teams played each other last year twice, with Ballard taking both the first game of the year and the last game of the year in the state semifinals in Des Moines. It’s a great first matchup for both teams, as they both will be challenged early with both sides having quality players.

For DCG, they return a great team this year that is filled with experience, and believe that scheduling a tough non-conference will have them prepared for the regular season. Tonight they will be hoping to stay composed early on, and find key players to stay into the game.

First tip will be happening at Ballard High School starting at 7:30.
