basketball-thru-hoop-2

Jefferson Parks and Recreation is giving families an opportunity to win a free turkey ahead of Thanksgiving.

One child and one parent or guardian will each shoot ten free throws at the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson. The most free throws that are made in the seven age divisions from 5-18 years old will win a turkey. The basketball hoops will be lowered and the free throw distance will be shortened for the younger players. Any ties will be decided by a shoot-off.

Each age group will compete in 20 minute increments, starting with 5 and 6 year olds at 5pm on Tuesday. The fee to enter the contest is a non-perishable food item that will be donated to the Greene County Action Resource Center in Jefferson. Registrations are due by Monday.
