The Jefferson Rotary Auction is tomorrow and there are lots of items that people can bid on.

There are close to 119 items viewable online at 32auctions.com, with 78 of those items as online only bidding. Rotary has chosen to do a hybrid event this year, with online bidding continuing until tomorrow when the in person event takes place at the Greene Room events center at Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson. The doors open at 5pm with games, including Plinko from The Price Is Right game show, followed by a prime rib dinner at 6pm and then the start of the live auction.

There are some big ticket live auction items up for grabs, including tickets to next year’s Kentucky Derby on May 6th and 7th at Churchill Downs, Kentucky, tickets to see the musical Hamilton at the Des Moines Civic Center on May 22, 2022, several golf outings at Lake Panorama, Carroll County Country Club, Lakeside and Jefferson Community Golf Course; ten cubic yards of concrete from Hamilton Redi-Mix and several professional athletic autographs.

Rotarian Travis Dvorak is hoping for a large turnout tomorrow, after having their fundraiser completely online last year due to COVID-19.

“I think the expectation is, just talking with Rotarians and people that traditionally come out here because they’ve been doing this for decades, but people are ready to come back out. There’s a comeradorary to it, there’s the fun and excitement of it. Online is good, I like it, but there’s just something about live events. I almost compare it to when we could all go back and watch live football. It’s okay to watch it on tv, but boy wasn’t it nice to go back out there and sit next to your friends and not worry about stuff.”

Online bidding ends at 6pm tomorrow. Tickets for the in person event are $50 a piece and can be purchased online by clicking the link below. Proceeds from the auction go back to local organizations and projects, as well as Rotary International.
