With it being deer mating season, deer are on the move and motorists should be aware.

DNR Conservation Officer Jeremy King says that the deer activity has really picked up during daylight hours. Kings says the peak run activity takes place from the end of October to approximately through the third week of November. King states what motorists will see during that time frame.

“So any time there you’ll see deer that are on their feet moving during daylight hours which isn’t normal for what we see for the rest of the year.”

He encourages motorists to scan fence lines and ditches while driving.
