Paton-Churdan girls’ basketball has a much different look than in recent seasons. No longer is 6′ 3″ All-State player Danielle Hoyle in high school, and three other starters graduated last May. Coach Tom Kennedy has seven players out and senior Carmyn Paup is the lone returning starter from the 16-6 team of last season.

Coach Kennedy talked to Raccoon Valley Radio about what the emphasis has been in early season practices. “We’re doing a lot of basic skills, trying to get better that way and work on basic basketball skills that first week. This week we’ll try and get into more of our game preparation stuff.”

The Rockets open the season at home in Churdan on Tuesday, Nov. 30 with Boyer Valley (Dunlap) for a girl/boy doubleheader.
