Due to the Iowa Association of School Boards convention, the Greene County School Board will meet Monday night for its November meeting.

The retiring board agenda includes an update on the former middle school to apartment project with developer Nate Adams, and the board will consider for approval the first reading of a revised board policy for voluntary retirement and a memorandum of understanding with the Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates (iJAG) program. Finally, the retiring board will canvass the votes from the November 2nd election.

The organizational meeting for the new board will then take place. The meeting will begin with the oath of office for the newly elected board members, as well as election of board president and vice president and their oaths of office. Next, the board will consider for approval the regular meeting dates, times and locations and committee assignments. The board will then discuss graduation requirements, and consider for approval the School Board Review Committee applications, including open enrollment out students that were not in the previous certified enrollment count and the English Language Learners weighting beyond five years.

The board will also consider for approval a Prairie Lakes Area Education Agency Director District 5 ballot, as well as fundraiser and early graduation requests.

Both meetings will take place at the District Conference Room at the middle school, starting at 5:15pm.
