Iowa high school girls’ basketball practice officially begins today. At Greene County HS that means a new era begins with first year head coach Tori Ogden at the helm of a program that has had far more losses than wins in recent seasons. Ogden becomes the first female head coach of the Jefferson-based girls’ basketball program in its 50-year history. She succeeds Todd Gordon, the district’s Activities Director, who coached last season on a one-year interim basis. Ogden has previously been an assistant coach at Southeast Warren (Liberty Center) and is a Fairfield, IA native.

The Rams were 6-13 last season and in the nine previous campaigns playing as Greene County, the best record is 11-11. Brianna Habben has the most varsity experience of the returning players. The senior post player led the team in several categories last season including points scored, field goal percentage, and in rebounds per game.
