Minor injuries were the result of a weekend two vehicle crash in Greene County.
According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy, along with Churdan and Jefferson Fire Departments and Greene County Ambulance responded to the wreck on 150th Street and N Avenue. Seventy-six-year-old Kevin Schim of Georgia was traveling south on N Avenue in a 2019 Nissan NV200. Schim stopped at a stop sign at the intersection with 150th Street and then pulled out in front of a northbound 2005 Jaguar XJ8 that was driven by 21-year-old Ian Schmitt of Jefferson, as Schmitt was turning on a curve onto 140th Street.
The report shows that both drivers suffered minor injuries and were taken to Greene County Medical Center. Both vehicles were also totaled. Schim was cited for failure to yield upon entering a stop or yield intersection.
