A lot of recent rainfall helped drought conditions in the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area.
According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor, the majority of Dallas, Guthrie and Greene counties are in a moderate drought. Additionally, a small southern portion in Dallas and Guthrie counties are abnormally dry and the northwest portion of Greene County is abnormally dry.
According to the National Weather Service, since the beginning of October through this past Thursday, Perry has received 5.68-inches of rainfall, Jefferson had 5.22-inches of rainfall, and Guthrie Center saw 5.7-inches of rainfall
