It’s round two of the Class 2A Iowa High School Football Playoffs and Linduska Field in Jefferson is the place to be for a top five battle. Coach Caden Duncan’s Greene County Rams host Larry Allen’s OABCIG Falcons at 7 p.m. with the winner advancing to the quarterfinals on Nov. 5. Both are 8-1 with the Rams rated as high as number 3 and the Falcons number 5.
Greene County has scored more touchdowns than any 2A teams and OABCIG isn’t far behind. The Rams average 47 points per game and the Falcons average 36. OABCIG’s defense gives up an average of 17 points while Greene County allows less than seven per contest.
Caden Duncan is head coach of the Rams. When asked what he wants from Ram fans at the game tonight, he said, “We’d like them to be rowdy! We want to see those stands packed and in those big situations we’d love a loud crowd, especially when we’re on defense and maybe get into the opponent’s head, so we’re looking forward to a packed Linduska!”
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. with coverage starting at 6:15 p.m. on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Fans are reminded no cash will be exchanged tonight, so tickets must be purchased in advance online at the Iowa High School Athletic Association website or via QR code with a smartphone at the gate.
