Due to inclement weather, the Iowa Department of Transportation has decided to reschedule its meeting about the two bridge projects in Greene County for later this spring.
DOT Field Service Coordinator Andy Loonan says the two bridge projects includes a bridge over West Beaver Creek and the other is the overpass just east of Grand Junction.
He comments that they want to make sure that the public as a chance to give their comments and input for the projects that are slated for 2018.
Loonan adds that the 1957 bridges have reached the end of their lifespan and so they are needing to demolish and rebuild them within the next four years. He is confident that both projects will be completed within that same year.
When construction happens, a detour will be in effect and motorists will be encouraged to use Highway 144 to County Road E-26 to Highway 169.
Loonan notes that they are planning on the meeting to happen sometime in April. You can contact the DOT office for more information at 515-239-1635.
