For one Panorama Panthers basketball player when the upcoming season ends their basketball talents will move on to the collegiate level once they graduate from high school.
Panorama Panthers girls basketball player and senior Payton Beckman has committed to playing basketball for the Northwestern Red Raiders in Orange City, Iowa. Beckman has been a steady contributor for Panthers girls basketball throughout her high school career.
During her freshman year Beckman averaged 8.7 points per game with a 43.3-percent field goal percentage and 35.6-percent behind the three point line while shooting 70.7-percent at the free throw line for a Panther’s squad that finished 22-2 on the season.
Beckman’s numbers jumped her sophomore year to 18.9 points per game on a 41.7-percent field goal percentage, 34.1-percent beyond the arc and 81.1-percent from the free throw line again for a Panthers team that finished 20-4 overall on the season.
Last year for the Panthers Beckman again improved on areas of her game for a team that finished 19-5 on the season while Beckman averaged 20.3 points per game on a 45-percent field goal percentage, shooting 38.4-percent behind the three point line and 80.2-percent from the free throw line.
For her high school career Beckman has already surpassed the 1,000 point total and will be looking to add upon that once the season begins for the Panorama Panthers girls basketball team later this year.
