Two area schools in Dallas County recently participated in the Iowa High School Music Association State Marching Band Contest this past weekend.
Marching bands from the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn and Perry School Districts were in Waukee this past Saturday, October 16th to participate in the state contest. Bands competed against a ranking system rather than against each other.
For Adel-DeSoto-Minburn they received a Division I ranking during the festival, the highest ranking there is for a superior performance. For the Perry High School Blue Brigade marching band they received a Division II rating during the competition. Both schools competed in the Class 3A division.
