Public safety officials responded to a call for a combine fire near Guthrie Center Friday afternoon. 

The Guthrie Center and Panora Fire Departments, Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office and Panora Ambulance responded to a call for a combine fire northwest of Guthrie Center near Rose Acres at approximately 2:30 p.m. Friday afternoon. 

According to the fire department, the owner was able to exit the Case IH combine and attempted to extinguish the fire but was unable to. There were no injuries reported and the combine was a complete loss. The fire department responded to the scene later at approximately 6 p.m. due to the combine reigniting and it was extinguished.
