Funeral services for Howard “Butch” Funke, 73, of Fontanelle, will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle, Iowa, with burial in the Garner Cemetery, Bridgewater, Iowa. Pastor Steven Broers will officiate the service.  The Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle is in charge of the professional arrangements.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.steenfunerals.com.

Open Visitation:  Will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 

Family Visitation:  The family will greet friends on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle from 700 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Memorials:  Memorials may be directed to the Howard Funke memorial fund to be established by the family at a later date.

Survivors:   He is survived by his two sons, Duane Funke and wife Lisa of Anita and Pat Funke of Dexter, Iowa;  three grandchildren, Montgomery Funke, Harley (Austin) Hetherin and Brooklyn Funke; three great grandchildren, Ashton, Able and Roman Hetherin; two sisters, Sherry Ruggles and husband Jim of Boone, Iowa and Cindy Wambold and husband Terry of Oklahoma; two step sons, Travis Arterburn and wife Lisa of Fontanelle and Justin Arterburn and wife Amanda of Ankeny, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
