Tomorrow a church in Grand Junction will celebrate a milestone that they didn’t get to last year because of the pandemic.
The First United Presbyterian Church is 151 years old and because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the historic milestone will be recognized during its regular service at 10:30am tomorrow. The three Presbyterian churches that make up the Greater Greene County Presbyterian Ministries will worship together in Grand Junction.
The church was first built on June 5, 1870 and then a new church was established in 1876. The building was then remodeled in 1911 and the final renovations were completed in 1982. The church also celebrated its centennial in 1970, when 200 people had dinner at the former East Greene High School, followed by a program at the church.
Everyone is invited to tomorrow’s special service at 10:30am, with refreshments and fellowship to follow the service.
