For car enthusiasts and those looking for potential career opportunities, an event in Perry today will feature both.
The free Perry Car Show will be taking place today on Second Avenue. President of the PerryDice Cruizers Dean Berkland says there will be a wide variety of cars for people to come see including motorcycles. Berkland encourages people to come out.
“Well if anybody likes old cars this will be the place to come. There will be a little bit of everything there. It’s free to everybody to come.”
Not only will there be rows of cars for people to come check out, there will also be a booth from Des Moines Area Community College Perry VanKirk Career Academy for people to explore educational and career opportunities. Director Eddie Diaz explains what will be available.
“Perry Economic Development has several tables of local industry from the hospital to local manufacturers and people can just chat with local employers about some of the career opportunities and then on top of that we are going to have a couple DMACC tables”
The free car show will take place today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Second Avenue in Perry and Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will be broadcasting live on location during the event from 10 a.m. to noon and then providing music until 2 p.m.
