Both high school volleyball teams in the county held Senior Night in their respective gyms Thursday night and both lost in three sets. Greene County hosted Nevada in a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference match and Paton-Churdan played Coon Rapids-Bayard in Churdan.

The Rams fell to the Cubs 14-25, 15-25, 13-25. Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s team is 3-3 in the conference and 14-9 overall while Nevada improved to 17-19, and 5-1 in the league.

The Rockets lost 10-25, 12-25, 22-25, to the Crusaders and are now 0-7 in the conference and 1-9 overall. Coach Makayla Sparr’s team went 38 of 45 from the service line with six ace serves. Emma Stream and Taryn Baugh each had two aces. The team had 17 kills with eight for Paige Teeples and four from Stream. The Rockets play in Anita tomorrow at the CAM tournament.
