Friday, September 24th
1:05pm: A deputy investigated an accident on Hwy 144 and 1st Street, Rippey. Gerald Reutter (80) of Pilot Mound was attempting to cross Hwy 144 in his red 2020 Chevrolet Impala and was struck by Jermon McLean (46) of Schenectady, NY in his 2019 International Semi. Gerald was cited for failure to yield right of way. Gerald’s Impala had an estimated $3,000 in damages and Jermon’s semi had an estimated $1,000 in damages.
1:16pm: A deputy investigated an accident on I Avenue a quarter mile south of 150th Street. Erica Teed (33) of Jefferson was traveling north in a 2006 Pontiac G6, when a 2011 Dodge Ram traveling south entered Erica’s Lane sideswiping her vehicle. The dodge ram was being operated by Mark Blair (74) of Churdan. Mark was cited for failure to yield half of right of way. Erica’s vehicle had an estimated $3,500 damages and Mark’s truck had an estimated $2,000 in damages.
2:45pm: A deputy was advised of debris on the roadway near 120th Street and D Avenue.
6:50pm: A deputy was advised of a pig and cow in a yard in the 700 blk of Glenwood Avenue.
Saturday, September 25th
1:13am: A deputy investigated a complaint of individuals doing illegal activities in the parking lot of the Cobblestone Hotel in Jefferson. The deputy located the vehicle on 220th Street and Neola Avenue. Charges are pending investigation.
10:46am: A deputy is investigating a harassment in the 800 blk of Lincoln Street, Scranton.
3:16pm: A deputy was advised of an injured dog near N Avenue and 140th Street.
5:18pm: A deputy assisted the Jefferson Police Department with a domestic assault at the Wild Rose Casino.
6:25pm: A deputy responded to a combine fire in the 1700 blk of T Avenue. The combine was a 1978 John Deere Turbo 7700 with an estimated $20,000 damages. The owner is Gregory Swecker (67) of Dana.
Sunday, September 26th
2:54am: A deputy responded to the Grand Junction Casey’s for an alarm.
3:49am: A deputy investigated an accident in the 800 blk of N Avenue. A silver 2012 Dodge Avenger left the roadway and struck a tree. The car had an estimated $14,000 damages. The driver of the vehicle was a juvenile and was cited for failure to maintain control.
9:59am: A deputy assisted a motorist in the 1600 blk of 235th Street.
7:23pm: A deputy was advised of a train blocking the railroad crossing on Parkland Avenue just north of 235th Street.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
