As more people continue to get tested for COVID-19 as the pandemic continues, the Dallas County Health Department can help people get tested at home.
Public Information Officer Ann Cochran says for people who would like to do a self test for COVID-19 the health department is a location they can visit that can provide the take home test kits, which is a saliva test.
“Our process is, call us ahead, let us know when you’re coming, and then stay in your car when you get here, and call us from the parking lot. We will bring the test kits out to you.You do the saliva test and then you put them back into the box. They are all packaged and pre shipping paid for and you just drop it off.”
Cochran tells Raccoon Valley Radio once the saliva tests have been returned, the health department will call the next day to let you know about the test results.
