early-voting

For those planning on voting for the November city-school board elections, there have been changes made to state law for early voting.

Guthrie County Auditor Dani Fink says there are some major changes to the election process this year which include moving early election voting from 29 days to 20 and polls will close at 8pm rather than 9pm in previous years on Election Day, and the ability to request an absentee ballot by mail.

“To request an absentee ballot by mail has been moved from 11 days, just depends on the election and the deadline to request is now 15 days before the election.”

She also says that the state did change the law on who can actually return absentee ballots in-person; it has to be the voter or someone that lives in the same household as that voter.
