If you have a large collection of old papers, documents or sensitive materials you’d like to get rid of, the Perry Public Library has an event coming up.

Library Director Mary Murphy says the library and the City of Perry co-sponsor an event together that brings a shredding truck to the library parking lot the second weekend in October and will run from 10 a.m. to noon on October 9th.

“I want to encourage people to use this as a way of cleaning out things. I had to clean out my parents house and it was a godsend when we could go and shred it in one place.”

Murphy tells Raccoon Valley Radio some of the items that could be shredded include things with sensitive information, along with old boxes of papers in a free, safe and secure way.

The shredding truck will be located in the south parking lot at the Perry Public Library. For more information you can go here.
