Dallas Center – Grimes boys and girls cross country teams returned to the course on Tuesday when they competed in Newton against good competition, with the boys getting in first place and the girls getting third in the meet.

DCG boys were tough in a solid meet, as they were able to pick up a team score of 36 as 7 of the top 15 runners came from DCG. Senior Aiden Ramsey continued his dominant senior season as he was able to put up a time of 16 minutes and 18 seconds, as he was able to pull away as the meet went on. Jacobs Ewers, AJ Angus, and Jack Every were all able to finish 6th, 8th, and 10th, all running in times that were within eight seconds of each other.

The girls were able to grab that 3rd place finish with a mark of 69 points, with junior Meredith McDermott grabbing the lone top 10 performance with a 9th place spot of 21 minutes and 58 seconds.

DCG will not any meets again for over a week, which will give them a break to back away from a busy schedule and put in some productive days on the practice course.
