Perry Elementary School has been recognized for their successful implementation of the Positive Behavior Intervention Supports initiative.

The Iowa Department of Education has selected Perry Elementary for a PBIS Emerging School Award for the 2012-2013 school year. The honor recognizes the school’s effort, enthusiasm and commitment to PBIS.

In order to be considered for the award, the school needed to have a leadership team that developed the necessary tools and products to roll out their PBIS plan to students, staff and families.

All schools in Iowa are working to implement systems that focus on safe, healthy and caring learning environments to improve behavior and academic outcomes.
