Following a temporary inconjunction by a federal judge to temporarily stop Iowa law that bans mask mandates in schools, the West Central Valley School Board has not had talks about implementing masks in their schools.
Co- Superintendent Rusty Shockley says that decision cannot be made at this time but could be a conversation down the road.
“At the point in time when Guthrie County Health (Department) asks us to consider, you know, requiring masks that’s when we would have that discussion.”
Shockley says the district has had one of the best starts to the school year that he can remember and that the COVID-19 cases have been minimal.
