The Panorama Panthers Football Team headed to Van Meter Friday night to face the Van Meter Bulldogs and struggled to put up points against a good Bulldogs team.
The Panthers came into the matchup with a record of 1-2 and were looking to get back into the win column against a then 3-0 Bulldogs team. The Panthers struggled to put up points throughout the contest losing by a score of 77-0.
The Panthers fell behind early as the Bulldogs managed 30 points in the first quarter and 27 in the second quarter to go up 57-0 at halftime. The Bulldogs would go on to score an additional 20 points in the second half of the game. The Panthers have now fallen to 1-3 on the season after the first game of conference play Friday night.
The Bulldogs ran the ball effectively against the Panthers Friday night as they ran the ball for almost 300 yards and 7 touchdowns on the ground. The Bulldogs added another touchdown through the air. The Bulldogs also created six total turnovers and returned three interceptions for touchdowns.
The Panthers record so far this season is 1-3 after a win against the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks with a score of 26-21, a loss to the Pella Christian Eagles 44-7 and a loss against the Central Decatur Cardinals 14-5 and Friday’s loss.
The Panthers will look to get back on track next week when they travel to Truro to take on the Interstate 35 Roadrunners for another conference game next week with kickoff for that game scheduled for 7 p.m. September 24th.
