Everyone is invited to the Scranton Community Center this Saturday for some Valentine’s weekend fun.

Co-chair of the Scranton Betterment Committee Peggy Hoyt says there will be a sock hop dance and karaoke at the community center starting at 7pm.

She points out that they’ve never tried anything like this before, but she’s encouraging everyone to come out for fun this weekend.

“Well we have our beautiful new community center and they’ve totally remodeled the gym.  And we just thought it was a fabulous time to foster community and get everybody out of this cold, winter weather and see your friends and neighbors in the community.”

She states that “DJ” Denny Matthews will provide the musical entertainment.

Admission fee is $5 per adult, students ages 11-17 are $2 and youth ages ten and under are admitted free with a paid adult.  It will be from 7-9pm and Hoyt asks that you have gym shoes or socks to protect their new floor.
