A two vehicle collision causes major vehicle damage in Grand Junction on Saturday.
Greene County Sheriff Steve Haupert says deputies responded to a two vehicle accident just outside of Casey’s General Store in Grand Junction at 1:37pm on Saturday.
30 year-old Rebecca Lynn Chumbley of Grand Junction was trying to turn into the gas station parking lot off of Highway 30 when her 2009 Ford Fusion was hit by a 2009 Jeep Patriot, driven by 40 year-old Lauri Ann Workman of Grand Junction. Workman was trying to turn out of the parking lot and couldn’t stop, due to the slick road conditions, before making contact.
Sheriff Haupert notes that Grand Junction Fire and Rescue also responded as a precaution, but that no one sustained any significant injuries.
Workman’s vehicle suffered $2,500 in damages and she was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway and Chumbley’s vehicle had $5,000 in damages and she was cited for operating a motor vehicle without registration for expired license plates.
