As the Panorama Panthers Football Team continues through the season they will look to cut down on turnovers.
The Panthers currently have a record of 1-2 on the season. The Panthers won their week one game against the Colfax-Mingo Tigerhawks then losing to the Pella Christian Eagles and Central Decatur Cardinals. Head Football Coach Mike Kauzlarich says through three games the Panthers have eight turnovers.
“We have got to take care of the ball I mean that’s the big thing. When you are losing the turnover margin that’s not a good thing. We lost two fumbles and then we threw an interception on Friday and Central Decatur, they didn’t have any turnovers so we have got to create some turnovers on the defensive side as well.”
As the Panthers begin their slate of conference games this week they will face the Van Meter Bulldogs who currently have a record of 3-0. Kauzlarich explains one thing that he has been preaching to the Panthers Football team.
“Regardless of the score go show what you’re made of, go show what kind of player you are and don’t let the score of the game affect your play and I think if we do that and just continue to improve and take care of the football and create a couple turnovers we can compete with some really good teams.
Kauzlarich says the hopes are for the Panthers to continue to clean things up the season and make a push for the playoffs.
The Panorama Panthers Football Team will continue their season this week when they face the Van Meter Bulldogs in Van Meter beginning at 7 p.m. this Friday.
