The Panorama Panthers Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams traveled to Colfax Thursday to participate in the Tigerhawk Invitational against multiple schools.
The Panthers had a both girls and boys running on the Quarry Springs Course Thursday and for the girls Payton Beckman ran a 23:09 to come in 8th, Leah Fett ran a 25:58 and came in 27th and Avery Bahrenfuss ran a 29:49 to place 54th.
The girls placed one runner within the top 10 across the meet and for the boys they fielded Landon Goodenberger who ran a 22:45 good enough for 63rd, Ryan McCarthy ran a 22:51 placing him in 68th, Avery Norman ran a 23:22 which placed him in 76th and rounding out the boys team was Laine Christe who ran a 27:03 placing him 107th overall.
For both the boys and girls Panthers cross country teams they did not field enough runners to compete as a full team and earn points during the meet but the overall winner of the meet for the boys was the North Mahaska Warhawks with 44 points and for the girls the winner was the Collins-Maxwell Spartans with 32 points.
While the Panthers weren’t able to earn points in the Tigerhawk Invitational Thursday due to fielding incomplete teams they will be looking ahead to their next meet which will be at 5 p.m. September 16th at the Lake Panorama Par 3 Golf Course in Panora.
