For the Panorama Panthers Cross Country Teams they will be heading out to the Tigerhawk Invitational this Thursday to run in a meet that will be brand new to them.
The Panthers will begin the Tigerhawk Invitational at 5 p.m. this Thursday at the Quarry Springs Park in Colfax. The Panthers will run against 14 others schools including Woodward-Granger, Newton, Saydel, Baxter and Clarke among other schools.
Cross Country Coach Greg Thompson says this will be the first time for the Panthers to participate in this meet and the Quarry Springs Park course will bring a mental challenge for the Panthers Cross Country runners on Thursday.
“We have never been to this meet before, so it’s kind of a new meet for me it’s a new meet for our kids. I’m not even familiar with most of the teams that are going to be there.”
Thompson says ahead of the meet this week he has looked at the course map and he says the course will provide a mental challenge for the runners this week as most of the courses they run have repeats or the courses allow for runners to see coaches and parents frequently but with this course being one long loop it may be difficult for parents and coaches to situate themselves to see runners more than once.
