The Stuart City Council meets this evening for its February session.
Tonight’s meeting will begin with a boy scout project presentation from area resident Trent Erickson.
Next, members of the White Pole Road Development Corporation will address the Council to discuss the possibility of adding vanity street signs to sign poles in town that would recognize the area as being associated with the White Pole Road.
The Council will then look at the 2014-15 proposed City budget and set a public hearing date to further review the budget. City Administrator Ashraf Ashour has recommended the public hearing be set for March 10th.
Council members will then decide whether or not to approve the third pay estimate to Roy Sargent Building, Inc. for work done on the Rock Island Depot Restoration project.
Another project in Stuart–that being downtown facade improvement will then be discussed. The City is slated to enter an official contract with Veenstra & Kimm Engineering, who will manage the facade project.
Other items on the agenda include discussion of the City’s property insurance, an overhang easement relating to the cemetery and discussion with West Central Valley officials pertaining to maintenance of the old athletic complex.
Tonight’s meeting begins at 6:30 in City Hall.
