A Jefferson woman was recently sentenced to prison for a February incident.
According to court documents, 22-year-old Whitney Campbell pled guilty to a Class C Felony for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver. She was sentenced to ten years in prison with credit for time already. The prison sentence is to run concurrently with several other cases, including a January 10th incident in Greene County. The January 10th incident happened when a Greene County Jailer was cleaning a cell and found a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine and had dried blood on the baggie.
Drug and DNA tests were conducted and the blood belonged to Campbell, which she denied she was in possession of the baggie. She was then convicted of a felony for possession of contraband in a correctional institution and was sentenced to five years in prison. The other case was from Guthrie County.
The ten year prison sentence for possession of meth with intent to deliver charge stemmed from a traffic stop on February 11th. A Greene County Deputy stopped the vehicle that Campbell was driving on East 2nd Street in Grand Junction at 8:05pm. During a probable cause search, several drug items were found and along with Campbell, two others were also charged, including 24-year-old Joshua Blumberg and 20-year-old Dakota Barrett. As per the plea agreement, Campbell’s Class D Felony for her third or subsequent offense for possession of a controlled substance violation was dismissed.
