As the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School District prepares for the start of the athletic season this week, the events will look more normal than they did last year.
Ahead of the first home volleyball match and football game this week, Activities Director Rod Wiebers says this year there will be no mask requirements and no capacity limits. Wiebers talks about one change that fans should be aware of.
“Probably the biggest change that the RRC (Raccoon River Conference) is going to is just trying to move cashless with a lot of things. So, we will do a lot of things with online ticketing. As far as that goes it looks probably closer to 2019 than what it did last year.”
Wiebers tells Raccoon Valley Radio people should look to ADM social media for more information on the cashless tickets and that the district will not turn away spectators who are having issues with cashless tickets. Wiebers adds people can do whatever makes them comfortable.
“We are telling our fans this is something that there’s a bunch of different opinions and thoughts on but we want to make sure that our fans feel comfortable doing what they need to as far as attending our events.”
Wiebers says while it isn’t required to wear a face covering, spectators can do so and there will be space available for fans to social distance as well.
