perry logoIt looks like the City of Perry will be able to save even more money on an energy saving project than they expected.

Estimates for the Iowa Energy Bank Lighting Improvement Project came in under the engineer’s estimate by more than $22,000.

The City Council approved the low bid of $229,870 from Voltmer Inc. out of Decorah at their meeting this week.

City Administrator Butch Niebuhr says unlike many projects, this one should be able to start this winter because with the exception of storms, the weather shouldn’t affect their work.

This is a rebid of this project, after a shift in who is in charge of the Iowa Energy Bank last May left the city to question whether or not they would be able to get funds to complete it.
