Two people suffered minor injuries from a two vehicle crash Sunday in Guthrie County.
According to the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the wreck at 5:42 pm at the intersection of Highways 25 and 141. A 2011 Toyota Tundra pickup was traveling northbound on Highway 25, when the driver, 44 year-old Horacio Gomez-Sanchez of Memphis, Tennessee ran a stop sign, entered the intersection and was struck by a westbound 2013 Ford F-150 pickup on Highway 141, driven by 57 year-old Joseph Keppford of Moorehead, Iowa who spun around and came to a rest on the north shoulder of Highway 141. The Tundra spun around, went airborne and hit a telephone pole, then came to a rest north of Highway 141 in a ditch.
The crash report shows Gomez-Sanchez and a passenger suffered minor injuries and were transported by Panora EMS to Guthrie County Hospital. Gomex-Sanchez was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield to right away. Keppford was uninjured.
Both vehicles were totaled and the estimated damage to the telephone pole was $3,500.
