While there was a brief pause in the Raccoon Valley Radio tower project due to the fabrication of equipment, the project resumes today.

General Manager John McGee says crews from Wallace Tower are back in Perry today to resume their work on the center tower. Crews will be prepping the tower to lift it off the ground to replace the porcelain insulator that was damaged in last year’s derecho storm.

Once work fully resumes on the tower project it will consist of lifting the center tower and replacing the insulator as well as replacing the transmission line and antennas for the 99.7FM KDLS signal.

Once work begins on the antennas and transmission line for the 99.7FM KDLS signal there will be on-air interruptions. In case of an on-air interruption you can always tune in to 1310AM KDLS, the KDLS app on your electronic device or online at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
