This is only the second week of official practice for Greene County High School in cross-country, volleyball, and football, yet competitions that count on the season record begin next week.

Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s volleyball Rams will be the first Greene County team to get into action when they travel to Maxwell to face Glidden-Ralston and Collins-Maxwell on Aug. 24.

Coach Jeff Lamoureux’s cross-country girls and boys have their first meet on Aug. 26 in Ames on the Iowa State University cross-country course. The volleyball Rams open the home portion of the schedule at Greene County High School on Aug. 26 vs. Ft. Dodge St. Edmond.

The football Rams, under the direction of head coach Caden Duncan, starts the regular season on Friday, Aug. 27 in Guthrie Center at 7 p.m. vs. non-district opponent ACGC. All Greene County football games can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

It’s practice and scrimmages this week, then competition next week for the Greene County teams in cross-country, volleyball, and football.
