Wednesday, August 4th
4:54am: An Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of East Lincoln Way for a burglary alarm activation. The Officer checked the property and the owner was notified of the alarm.
9:40am: An Oly’s Corner employee reported a male had pumped $20 worth of fuel and left without paying the debt. The Officer began investigating. The Officer was later notified the male had returned and paid for the fuel.
9:50am: Deloris Ortiz of Jefferson reported noticing an open door at Shine on Design, 106 East State Street. It was reported the store was not open and someone was seen inside. The Officer checked the property and found the store’s owner was inside preparing to open.
12:15pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of South Elm Street and 250th Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Gary Davis of Cannon Falls, Minnesota was issued a citation for “Excessive Speed”
6:31pm: Rodney Hunter of Jefferson called the Greene County Law Enforcement Center to report he was being harassed by his former girlfriend. The Officer investigated and found nothing illegal had occurred.
6:58pm: An Officer was dispatched to the 100 block of North Olive Street for a report of a Domestic Assault having occurred. The Officer investigated the report, as a result of the investigation Melissa Rice of Jefferson was placed under arrested. Melissa Rice was charged with “Domestic Abuse Assault – 1st Offense”
8:20pm: Rodney Hunter of Jefferson reported hearing a noise in his basement. The Officer Checked the basement with Rodney and found nothing unusual.
Thursday, August 5th
7:33am: An Officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of South Elm Street for a large amount of dirt in the roadway. The Officer provided traffic control while the person responsible for the dirt cleaned it from the road.
9:47am: Jan Olson of Jefferson reported a stray dog running loose in the 600 block of North Olive Street. The Officer looked for the dog and did not locate it.
10:15am: Jeffrey Kreft of Sac City reported having been written a check which was found to have insufficient funds in the account to cover the amount written. The Officer is investigating.
10:54am: An Officer assisted Melissa Rice of Jefferson is retrieving personal property from a residence in the 100 block of North Olive Street.
12:02pm: An Officer was dispatched to the 900 block of North Pinet Street for a Domestic Disturbance involving a parent and minor child. The officer determined a crime had not occurred and assisted the family with the situation.
12:10pm: Cheree Derry of Jefferson reported a stray dog running loose in near the intersection of McKinley and Cedar Streets. The Officer looked for the dog and did not locate it.
1:40pm: Jennifer Parker of Jefferson reported a two vehicle, property damage accident having occurred in the HyVee Parking lot. It was reported one of the parties had already left the scene. The Officer is investigating.
1:45pm: Al Jacobs of Jefferson reported a possibly homeless male near the Dwelling Place, 303 East Gallup Road. The Officer checked on the male and found he was homeless and passing through Jefferson. It was decided by the property owners the male could stay until Sunday, August 8th, 2021. The male was advised of this.
10:17pm: A resident of Regency Park reported staff opening her packages. The Officer spoke with staff at the facility
