For those wanting to take part in a free and fun inaugural activity, the event is happening today. 

The Perry Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the first ever Mini Bike Ride to the Rec today beginning at 5:30 p.m. Also, free bike checks from Michael’s Cyclery will take place in Soumas Court before the ride begins from 4:30-5:30 p.m.

The ride is to celebrate the sixth month mark before the Bike Ride to Rippey takes place in February 2022. The 1.5 mile ride will take bicyclists from the Perry Farmers Market at Josh Davis Plaza to the McCreary Community Building and back.

Chamber Intern Hannah Peterson says the Mini BRR ride was an idea to get more community involvement and there will be other fun things for people to take part in during the ride. 

“We’ll be handing out freeze pops to people, BRR shirts, we will have information about BRR registration and there will even be some good giveaway prizes.”

There is no registration or fee required to take part in the event. The event is also open to all ages.
